Tracey Barrett, RN, BSN, is the Executive Director for CARE-ID. Her Medical Technology background is primarily focused in Hematology and Microbiology/Parasitology. For 2 years she managed the IDP, Inc. intra-office laboratory, then in 1999 Ms. Barrett took the Lead Research Coordinator position where she coordinated thirteen industry sponsored HIV-antiretroviral protocols Phases 2-3, and managed over 100 enrolled subjects. Mrs. Barrett co-authored the IDP Research and CARE-ID Standard Operating Procedure Manual. She obtained her nursing degree and license in 2003. She manages protocol contracts and budgets, regulatory submissions, Standard Operating Procedures, and provides back-up support to the Coordinator staff. She is IATA certified.

Cindy Coates, CCRC has been a Study Coordinator at CARE-ID since 2006. Mrs. Coates retired in March 2006 from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. She worked as a Research Assistant with Medstar Research Institute where she got her start working on The Diabetes Prevention Program for 5 years. In 1999 she joined the Metropolitan Gastroenterology Group where she was a Clinical Research Coordinator and Manager. The protocol experience was mainly in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology where she coordinated 6 protocols simultaneously with a subject load of 10 clients. Mrs. Coates earned certification as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals in 2001. Mrs. Coates came to CARE-ID in September 2005. She is responsible for subject recruitment, subject screening, enrollment and follow-up. She handles adverse event and serious adverse event reporting and assists in the Quality Control program. She performs data entry, filing, laboratory specimen processing and shipping, and is IATA certified.
